This Pack is committed to helping young boys (1^st – 5^th grade) grow in character and leadership skills while they have a blast doing it!  Our pack is 50 boys strong with an outstanding volunteer leadership staff of approximately 15 men and women.  Together, with a group of very supportive parents, we are a strong and vital part of our growing community.

Pack 583 participates in many events that are fun and educational for the boys including hiking, camping, Pinewood Derby races, Bottle Rocket Launches and many field trips to various local places of interest.

Being a Cub Scout means making contributions not only to your family and to your Pack, but also to the community.  Our Pack is involved in service to the community in a variety of ways.  We participate in a program called Scouting for Food wherein the boys collect canned goods from families in their community and donate them to those in need.  Other community activities include helping to keep our local lake, Castaic Lake, clean by volunteering our time to remove trash and debris and collecting recyclables to help raise funds for a fellow Cub Scout who is suffering from leukemia.  Cub Scouts is an excellent organization that teaches the boys early the importance of giving back.  (Click here for a Power Point Presentation on Cub Scouting.)

Our Pack meets monthly in the MPR at Castaic Elementary school and the individual dens within the Pack meet weekly or bi-weekly during the month.
